Palawan Coron Reefs is also one of the most visited places in the province of Palawan. It is located in the Northern part of Palawan, near the town of Coron. Coron reef is comprised of seven enchanting lakes surrounded by craggy limestone cliffs. Considered as one of the beautiful natures, the Coron Reef is flocked many local and foreign tourist everyday.
Coron Reef is tied with the World War II when Philippines was occupied by Japanese, in which sea battles occurs in the Island of Palawan as the US Navy liberated the Philippines. The war resulted into a number of sunken Japanese shipwrecks sunk on the sea. This made the TEC divers and snorkelers visit the area and explore the shipwrecks that entombed in the sea.
Coron Reef offers exciting wreck exploration to some novice divers and snorkelers. If you are new to diving, you can hire from dive operators in the area to offer you basic and expert courses. Dive Operators offers day diving, snorkelling and over night dive safaris for those who want to stay at night. Pump boats and charter boats also offer diving in the site. Tourist can also enjoy beautiful beaches, bird watching, hot springs, mountain climbing and trekking.
How to get there
Coron Reefs is located in northern part of Palawan in the town proper of Busuanga Island. From Puerto Princesa City, you can take a bus or jeepney or take a pump boat ride going to Busuanga Island. It will take approximately 50 minutes travel time to reach your destination.
